Project Manager
Experienced Project Manager sought to supervise and oversee the implementation of large scale monitoring projects throughout London.
The primary role of this position will to ensure large scale monitoring projects are implemented according to the requirements outlined in each project’s specification. This will involve liaising between SES resource managers, the client and the consulting engineers.
The role will also involve managing resources to ensure the project is undertaken within the programmed time frames and on budget.
The chosen candidate will be expected to attend meetings, as such good communication skills are required.
Compliance to the specification is an important factor so knowledge of the various methods of monitoring and their implementation is important. This will include knowledge of general surveying practises. A working knowledge of other monitoring related activities (such as inclinometers, tiltmeter systems, etc.) would be useful but not essential.
The candidate will be also be required to have good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel and Word.
Assistant Surveyor
The assistant surveyors role would be to assist the Surveyor / Senior Surveyor in their daily duties. The assistant would be expected to learn from the surveyor and to gain invaluable experience for their future career. There is the prospect of progressing to the role of junior surveyor for those who show the required ability and initiative.
Candidates must have GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English and have an awareness of construction. This awareness could be in the form of experience but would preferably be through college courses, i.e. NVQ in construction.
This position would suit individuals who are willing to learn whilst working and have the ambition to progress.
Graduate Surveyor
Graduate Surveyors are initially employed in the role of assistant surveyor, however, due to the expected accelerated progress, graduate surveyors should be fulfilling the role of Junior Surveyor within 12 months.
Candidates must have completed a BTEC HND or Degree level course in Land Survey or Civil Engineering. No experience is necessary and all relevant training will be given.
This position would suit individuals who are serious about a career in surveying and are looking to gain experience on some of the largest construction projects in the UK.
Junior Surveyor
A junior surveyor would be required to carry out, with instruction, basic as-built surveys and setting out, basic topographic surveys, and to work as a second team under the direction of a senior surveyor.
Candidates must have completed a BTEC HND or Degree level course in Land Survey or Civil Engineering and have 1 to 2 years relevant work experience. Additional training will be given whilst gaining invaluable experience.
This position would suit those who are starting on a career in surveying and are looking for a varied workload on some of the largest construction projects in the UK.
Surveyor
A Surveyor would be required to carry out as-built surveys and setting out, topographic surveys, establish survey control and liaise with clients to identify their needs. A surveyor would be expected to operate dependent upon head office.
Candidates must have completed a BTEC HND or Degree level course in Land Survey or Civil Engineering and have 3 to 4 years relevant work experience. Candidates must be able to show initiative, work accurately and be reliable.
This position would suit those who have a good grounding in surveying but are looking for a more challenging and varied role whilst gaining valuable experience on a wide variety of surveying projects.
Senior Surveyor
A Senior Surveyor would be required to fulfil the role of surveyor but to also work independently of head office and to instruct junior teams. They should be able to liaise with clients, identify their needs and offer expert opinion.
Candidates must have completed a BTEC HND or Degree level course in Land Survey or Civil Engineering and have 5+ years relevant work experience. We would also anticipate at least a basic level of CAD skills to be demonstrated. Candidates must be able to show initiative, work accurately, be reliable and have good communication skills.
This position would suit those who have a good and varied surveying background and are looking for a more challenging and varied role whilst gaining experience of project management skills.
CAD Operator
CAD operators should be able to produce good quality 2-D AutoCAD drawings from survey field notes and processed field data files. They should be able to liaise with the client, identify their needs and issue drawings where required. CAD operators would be expected to work under supervision within the CAD department.
CAD operators must have 2 to 3 years experience as a CAD operator, preferably within the survey profession. Experience working as a surveyor would be preferable but not essential.
