Site Engineering Surveys Ltd is committed to the highest standards of safety, health and environmental practice. We maintain a clear understanding of our social and statutory obligations towards our employees and the wider community at large, our policy sets out to safeguard the safety, health and welfare of our employees and that of others who may be affected by our business operations.
We recognise the importance of providing a safe and healthy working environment for all, we ensure suitable and appropriate health and safety training for our employees and we ensure that all plant, equipment and substances are without risk to health.
We provide employees with suitable and adequate systems of work, procedures and guidance to support and assist them in conducting their activities in a safe manner and we provide, as a minimum, training consisting of:
- Prior to working on site we ensure that all SES site personnel sit and pass the CSCS health and safety competence test, thus ensuring a suitable understanding of the typical risks, controls and procedures to remain safe on site. This is particularly useful for those who are new to the construction industry.
- All site personnel are to complete a H&S awareness course, this is typically the CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course, although other similar courses are also undertaken. This course helps to understand the potential hazards faced at work in construction.
- Those with a supervisory role are to complete the CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme or similar course, this providing an introduction to the legal responsibilities relevant to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues in the work place.
- Managers are to complete the CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, the aim of this course is to give an understanding of the responsibilities and accountability for site safety, health and welfare and current health and safety legislation.
- All survey teams to consist of at least one first aid trained person. A two person team will have one member that has completed the appointed person/emergency first aid course. Where there are numerous teams present, one person will have completed the first aid at work course.
We are fully committed to implementing a Health, Safety & Environmental policy which will positively contribute to minimising the risk of injury, ill health and environmental pollution. Our policy is under continued review as we look to maintain and promote a positive health and safety culture.
